Acquiring traffic is often seen as the foundation of an inbound marketing strategy . Indeed, the more visitors you will have on your website, the more you will be able to convert some of it into leads, and the more you can then UAE Email List them to transform them into customers. In a previous post, I explained how we went about making direct traffic our first source of visits to Markentive’s digital marketing blog . I had noticed that we had also made significant progress, also in terms of our organic traffic.

The screenshot above is from Markentive’s Google Analytics and represents our organic traffic curve. In July 2013, we had collected 548 visits from search engines. By January 1, 2014, this figure had risen to 1,693 (more than triple) and continues to grow week after week. The digital marketing technique that we used to achieve these results is no secret, we apply it for all our clients who want to start their business or generate more traffic on their site. Do you want to give your traffic curve a boost too? Already avoid 8 SEO mistakes that penalize your website and follow the steps of our technique which continues to prove its worth:

#SEO: Build your keyword list

The most important thing to do before you jump head-to-head into battle is to put yourself in your client’s shoes . What exactly is he looking for? What queries will it use to find products / services similar to yours? Each of the answers to these questions will reveal keywords that you should rank for. Then, don’t hesitate to take a look at your direct competitors. What keywords did they rank on? And above all, does it allow them to generate a lot of traffic? Tools like SEMRush and Open Site Explorer are very useful in this case.

UAE Email List

Once your list of keywords has been established, you will now have to assess whether each of them is worth considering. To do this, use Google’s keyword planning tool to find the most interesting keywords, that is, those with a fairly large search volume while being as less competitive as possible (see our article on the long tail strategy on this subject). Everything here depends on the strategy you choose (and especially the resources available to you) but keep in mind that you must first of all choose keywords for which you think you can position yourself high in the search engines. So sometimes it is more interesting to be the big fish in the small pond than the small fish in the ocean.

Build your website around these keywords

At this point, you have identified all the keywords that are likely to bring you interesting traffic and for which you are willing to beat the competition. Now you have to go to the second step: optimize your website for the chosen keywords.

If you don’t have a website yet, try to include your most relevant keywords in the URL if possible ; Think of each of the pages of your website as being oriented around one or 2 keywords, and insert them judiciously in your titles, sub-titles and page descriptions (be careful not to want to do too much, over-optimization Keyword-or keyword stuffing – is a practice sanctioned by Google do not prefer search engines at the expense of your readers).. For keywords that seem really important to your business (those that set you apart from your competitors for example or which are your core business ), consider optimizing them around a dedicated landing page offering specific content (for example a White Book).
